Junior Scholarship Weekend

This week Bryan College has been preparing for this weekend’s Junior Scholarship event. This event offers upcoming Bryan students ways to earn scholarship money and get acquainted with the dorm life.

Diana Holcomb, Bryan’s campus visit coordinator, was able to talk to me about the upcoming event. “This fall we are excited to offer two new perks to the scholarship weekend. The first is an optional essay with the winner receiving a full ride to Bryan and the second is an activity fair highlighting Bryan’s ministry groups. Participants in this event will be able to play games for prizes and mingle with Bryan students and representatives. To end the day, the participants will be given a free ticket to watch Bryan’s musical ‘Into the Woods’”, says Holcomb.

Neal Doran, a professor of biology at Bryan, is serving as a judge for this scholarship weekend. He explained that he was looking for someone who was serious about making an impact on society for the Lord. “I hope we are able to find great matches for our college, and that we are able to help the scholars find their place here at Bryan”, explained Doran.

Another great part of this program is the fact that Bryan allows these scholars a chance to spend the night in a dorm room, which will help them see what it is like living on a dorm hall. Another neat thing is that they will be able to room with Bryan students, helping these scholars start out with friends, making the adjustment to college life must smoother.

All in all, our administration staff has worked off the clock for this weekend, and it is defiantly shaping up to be a wonderful weekend making difference makers for Christ.
