Hello from DC! Businessman Donald Trump just bailed on the CPAC (Conservative Political Action Committee) conference in DC; apparently, he was afraid of a mass conservative walk out during his speech.
Gov. Kasich just spoke, and we are about to see Sen. Cruz then Mr. Carson this afternoon, and then Sen. Rubio in the morning.
A plurality supported Cruz last night during the televised debate with about 1000 conferees viewing it. With the ballroom filled (2500 est.), seems like the plurality is supporting Sen. Cruz today.
The audience is quite respectful. The Gov. Kasich speech was received warmly; if he braved the tumultuous waters, Trump would have done well as well, methinks.
