Letter to the Editor: Hear My Voice – Josh Oldroyd

171389I speak on behalf of the entire Men’s Soccer program when I echo how devastated and betrayed we are in regards to the departure of Joey Johnson as Bryan College Head Coach. Furthermore, I think I communicate for the whole of Bryan College when I ask for an explanation in to the recent on goings throughout the school.

One point Coach Johnson voiced throughout his time as Head Coach was that the current situation at Bryan is not something that is as recent as two months ago. I know from constant conversation with the Johnson family that the current situation at Bryan started over a year ago, and it is this reason why I am voicing my concern.

As an international athlete, I do not have as much of an opinion in to schooling matters than most here at Bryan; nevertheless, when our soccer team is affected, we as a group begin to take interest. I use this time to adamantly mention that we are more than happy with Coach Johnson’s replacement, Coach Courtney; however, it is extremely hard for us as a team to keep silent when we understand that one of the major factors in Coach Johnson’s departure was due to the lack of demonstrated trust between himself and the administration.

I once again urge the hierarchy at Bryan College to address the students with a statement or explanation as to what the current situation is at the school, and what the future holds for us as not only students, but followers of Christ.
