Women’s basketball now 6-2

The Lady Lions basketball team, coached by Jamy Bechler, was victorious over Oakwood University (Huntsville, Ala.) on Tuesday, Nov. 10, with a final score of 75-34.

During the first half, the Lady Lions started out slow, allowing Oakwood to get ahead the first few minutes, but the gap quickly closed as the first half came to an end. The Lions outscored Oakwood 28-7, and ended the first half 41-20. Sophomore Anna Thomas had 13 of her 18 points during the first half.

Going into the second half, the Lady Lions stayed strong and kept the lead throughout the rest of the game. Bryan kept the lead by outscoring its opponents 34-14, and ending the game with a score of 75-34.

All 10 of the Lady Lions were able to score during this game. Sophomore Anna Thomas led the way with 18 points, and freshman Morgan Burnette posted 13 points. Half of the team had seven rebounds, with Burnette leading the way.

The Lady Lions basketball team is now 6-2 and has a full schedule ahead.
