Lions defeat Virginia Intermont Cobras

The Bryan men’s soccer team won their final conference home game against Virginia Intermont College (Bristol, Va.) 5-0.

Daniel Branley scored the Lions’ first goal in the 8th minute. Alan da Costa followed with a goal of his own nine minutes later. Stephen Millage put the final goal of the first half into the back of the net in the 34th minute. The Lions finished the half 3-0.

The Lions’ 4th goal came when Joel Glover was taken down in the box, earning a penalty kick. Gustavo Angel Tamayo took the shot, but the goalkeeper stopped it. Gustavo followed his shot and scored. Brandon Roberts, who was also taken down in the box, took his penalty kick and scored the fifth and final goal.

The Bryan defense recorded their 9th shutout of the season during this game.

The team is now 10-2 overall and 7-1 in the AAC. They play their final conference game against Milligan College (Johnson City, Tenn.) on Oct. 19.
