This week’s Guess Who professor is a former Bryan student who graduated with the Class of 1986. He continued in his education at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville to gain a Master of Science degree in Communications.Although born in Vermont, this professor spent his childhood years in New Hampshire as well as Massachusetts and attended a Christian boarding school in North Carolina. Even though he originally planned on being a high school history teacher, God had other plans and used his natural curiosity and hobby of photography to introduce him to his current profession.

Speaking about his wife of 20 years he said, “[She] is my partner in all things, including my business.” Together they have four children, ages 10-17, who are all homeschooled.

As for the future, he wants to “continue to serve God as best [he] can” and doesn’t plan on any changes in his vocation.

“I love what I’m doing now,” he said.

To his students, he might be known for saying, “Is it true? Is it accurate? Is it fair? Is it loving?” or “Who? What? Where? When? How?” and “So what?”

If he could meet any person in history, this professor would want to be introduced to William Brewster, ruling elder and spiritual mentor for the Pilgrims, as well as his grandfather, 11 times removed.

Some of his personal favorites and preferences include: “Les Misérables” and “Crime and Punishment” (books); Keith Green and Nickel Creek (music); reading, gardening and raising chickens (hobbies).
