Bryan College’s women’s volleyball senior setter Taylor Fink was just named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week and Setter of the Week.

Fink led the Lions in six games this past week, including conference wins over Union College (Barbourville, Kentucky) and Point University (West Point, Georgia). She also led the Lions with a 4-0 finish at the Lee University (Cleveland, Tennessee) Invitational.

During these matches Fink averaged 11.4 assists perset, and in the Union game Fink had 44 assists in the Lion’s 3-1 win.

In a game against NCAA Division II school South Wesleyan University (Central, South Carolina) Fink had a career high with 67 assists and 18 digs.

“I am very thankful to have won the AAC Player of the Week. I honestly didn’t earn it by myself. Without the rest of the team I wouldn’t be able to do anything on the court,” said Fink.

She said she earned this award because of the hard work put in by everyone and that her teammates make her look good each and every game.

“I am a very competitive person by nature and every single time the whistle blows, a point is being fought for and I have to win that point. I also love being on a team that is as close as a family,” said Fink. “Having such good team chemistry allows for more success when it comes to games.”

Fink’s teammate, senior hitter Ashley Ferris, said Fink is competitive and hates losing.

“She is very hardworking and loves the game.  You can just tell that she plays for God and for her teammates,” said Ferris.

This week the Lions will play conference games against Reinhardt University (Waleska, Georgia), St. Andrews University (Laurinburg, North Carolina) and Columbia College (Columbia, South Carolina).
