Bryan College is looking to add nine new classes for the Fall 2014 semester.

“Comparative History of Organized Crime” will teach students about how organized crime started and its rise to power and fame in the 20th century.

“Elvish: The Language of ‘Lord of the Rings’” will give students the opportunity to learn Sindarin (the official term for Tolkein’s Elvish).

New EHS classes include “Tree Climbing,” “Whitewater Skills,” “Skiing” and “Snogging.”

“Tree Climbing” will be taught by Scott Landis and will teach students the proper way to climb trees. Students will start out learning to climb at Fort Bluff before moving on to more dangerous limbs at Pocket. Everyone wanting to take the class will be required to sign a waiver, as Bryan will not be liable for any injuries or loss of lives.

For those who love being on the river, “Whitewater Skills” will teach everything necessary to master whitewater rafting. A field trip will allow students to put the classroom lectures into action.

“Skiing” will teach the history of skiing along with proper techniques before students head out on the slopes. Students are also required to sign a waiver before participating in the class — broken legs will be at the students’ own risk.

“Snogging,” taught by Michael Palmer, is designed to teach the art of snogging along with proper techniques and different forms. Students wanting to have a little fun in class should sign up immediately. Just be prepared to get close with classmates.

For those looking for something more artistic, Bryan plans to refill the pool in order to offer “Underwater Basket Weaving.” Dave Parron will teach this class in which students will make baskets underwater using dried willow rods.

Those looking for a “ring by spring” can take “Finding Dates Worth Keeping” to learn how to make wise dating decisions. And, for the already engaged females, a “Biblical Model for Home and Family” course will be offered which teaches women how to serve your husband and take care of the home.
