Bryan College Cheer has added a new assistant coach: Bryan alumni, Erin Bell. Along with being a Bryan alum, Bell also did cheer as team leader throughout her entire college career. Bell has over 10 years of experience coaching at various levels and spent last year as the head coach of her former school, Moore County High School. While Bell is working as the assistant coach, she is also working on her second undergraduate degree. Bell plans to graduate in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in education.
Bell was recruited by Coach Janice Perron during her initial Bryan years. She received offers to cheer from other colleges such as Milligan University. Bell states that Perron was the most welcoming coach she interacted with. She signed shortly after.
Bell’s expectations for the team include: growing the girls closer on and off the court, building their skill sets, and implementing new ideals and skills. Bell aims to take the team to compete, and bring in a new recruiting class. Bell is working with head coach Janice Perron to plan a recruiting clinic. This event is scheduled for September 5, 2020. This event will reward scholarships and offers based on evaluation of high school cheerleaders who attend. This is a first-time event for Bryan College cheer.
Bell is skilled in planning, organizing, and choreographing. These skills sets benefit the Bryan cheer team in various ways. Coach Janice Perron is excited to see how the new dynamic pushes the team to better themselves in the 2020 season.
Morgan Clark is a senior communication media and culture major. She is a first-year staff writer for the Bryan Triangle. Clark is a varsity cheerleader for Bryan College.
