Vision Statement:

SGA exists to build and strengthen the community of Bryan College through leadership development, student representation, and purposeful events.

Position Descriptions:

Below are just general descriptions of the positions on SGA. Please use these as a reference when reading the candidates’ speeches.

Minister to Men/Women

 Must meet regularly with the other Class Officers and with Ministry Council.
 Will not be able to (and are not expected to) reach out to every individual student within the class, but should strive to support Men’s Ministry or Women’s Ministry as it provides opportunities to reach out to groups of guys or girls.

Treasurer

 Must meet regularly with the Class Officers and with the Vice President of Finance
 Must be able to develop and keep up with the Class budget for the year.
 Must maintain accurate records of all expenditures.
 Must ensure that all SGA financial policies and procedures are abided by.

Male/Female Representative (Senator)

 Must meet regularly with the Class Officers and with Senate.
 Must be willing to represent the opinion of their class as fairly and impartially as possible.
 Must be willing to represent the opinion of the Administration to their class as fairly and impartially as possible.

Vice President

 Must meet regularly with the Class Officers and with Events Council.
 Must plan/oversee the planning of events throughout the year for his/her class (with the aid of the other Class Officers), including a banquet.

President

 Must call and preside over regular meetings with the Class Officers.
 Must meet regularly with the Student Body President at Presidents’ Council.
 Must hold the Class Officers accountable to fulfilling their duties (and they will do the same for him/her).
 Will generally be held responsible for the actions of his/her class SGA.
