The Seventh Annual Art Event

Written by: Eleanor Sanford, staff writer

DAYTON, Tenn. – For the seventh time, the Bryan College Worldview Fellows are hosting the Art Event. It began as a council that encouraged students to create as there were no other creative outlets on campus.

The art event allows students to create any type of art. Every week, there are creative spaces hosted around campus. This is a place where students can come and use art supplies provided to create art.

Each year there is a new theme for the event. This year is Adjourn: Consider and Uncover. 2020 was a challenging year. The idea behind Adjourn as the theme is to pause, a pause with the intention of returning.

Students are encouraged to pause and reflect on the challenges and growth from 2020 and create from those feelings. Community artists are also involved and have submitted artwork.

On March 11 at 7 p.m., the whole student body has the opportunity to come and celebrate together. The art event will take place in the Bryan College cafeteria and will have a time of appreciating the visual arts and a section of performances.

Dinner will be provided at the event, and students are encouraged to dress up in semi-formal attire.

Create some art and come celebrate the beauty that has come from a difficult year.
