Bryan Lions Men’s Soccer shuts out Dalton State Roadrunners

The Bryan College Men’s Soccer Team shut out the Dalton State Roadrunners on Bryan’s Homecoming Day. Bryan ended up defeating Dalton State 6-0, with four different players scoring for the Lions.

Bryan took an early lead as Charlie Clarke scored 5:44 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ricketts then scored twice in a row, once at 33:15, and the next at 48:22 minutes, putting him at 10 goals for the season. Jason Ward scored for the Lions at 63:05 minutes and Clarke scored his second goal at the 70th minute, Felipe Teruel then scored a few seconds later. Bryan was given an opportunity when  a mistake was made by a Dalton State player, scoring two times in a minute.

Despite the win by Bryan, the Roadrunners could have had a worse day if it wasn’t for their goalie, Samuel Fraire, who had 7 saves. Bryan played a tight defensive game, holding Dalton State to only 3 shots on goal, 8 shots total. Goalie Easton Hartman had one save for Bryan but was later replaced by Alex Horton, who then recorded 2 saves.

Dalton State College falls to 4 wins, 6 losses and one tie on the season, while Bryan has 6 wins, 4 losses and 2 ties.

Bryan’s next matchup is Georgia Gwinnett at Dayton on Tuesday, October 9 at 7:00 pm. This matchup will be tough for Bryan, as Georgia Gwinnett has spent time in the top 25 and is currently receiving votes.
