Men’s Soccer ends season to loss against Spring Arbor

Dayton, TN— Bryan Lions men’s soccer suffered their season ending loss to Spring Arbor University (Mich.) in OT in the first round of the NAIA National Championship on Nov. 19.

The Lions jumped to a 2-0 lead after the first half with goals from Sophomores Charlie Clarke and Cooper Loftin respectively.

Clarke put the Lions on the board first after just 16:39 in the first half.

The Spring Arbor Cougars came out in the second half firing, taking only 5:35 before Janum Sailor netted the first goal for the Cougars.

After 90 minutes of regulation play, a winner could not be decided after Jacob Crull scored the equalizer to bring the score to 2-2, with 22 minutes left in the game.

Janum Sailor scored his second goal of the night 1:12 into OT to give the Cougars a 3-2 win.

That win advanced Spring Arbor into the 16-team single elimination event in Delray Beach, Fla. that runs from Nov. 28 – Dec. 3.

The Lions finished the season with an impressive 16-3-3 record. Congratulations Bryan Lions we’re very proud.
