The game featured a battle between defenses as both teams were able to keep each other out of the net for the first 90 minutes of play. Bryan played excellent defense to counter Martin Methodist’s 15 shots on the night. Freshman keeper Alex Horton had five saves.

Freshman forward Charlie Clarke and senior forward Joel Glover lead the Lions on shots taken with two each.

The Lions and the Red Hawks pushed the game into a golden goal overtime where Glover was able to strike a goal to win the match 1-0.

“I was proud of the way we responded from our previous match,” Lions Head Coach Drew Courtney said. “We challenged our guys and they responded well. We had some players take some really positive steps in their roles.”

Bryan moves to 3-2 overall on the season as they look forward to traveling for their next three matches. Their next opponent is the University of Rio Grande (Rio Grande, Ohio), and the match is scheduled for September 16 at 7:00 p.m.
