If you’ve been waiting to pull the sweaters out of the closet, then the wait is over. Fall is upon us, and along with the change in temperature comes a major change in fashion.

Fall is one of the greatest times for new fashion trends. My favorite parts of fall are the changing of the leaves and the beautiful decorations, but most of all its all fabulous clothes that hit the stores. Burnt orange, deep purples, mustard yellow and hunter greens are bound to be all the rage this fall season. I put together this outfit with the hope that fall really is right around the corner.

The sweater here is the perfect burnt orange for fall and it ties in nicely with the patterns in the shirt. The green pants also go great with the patterns and colors on the shirt. The sweater and shirt are both from Target and the cropped pants are from American Eagle. This whole outfit is extremely comfortable aside from the fact that the weather outside wasn’t nearly cold enough for a sweater.

Boots are a staple for any fall closet but I felt like some classic white high tops did the job just as well. Cropped or cuffed pants have definitely become a trend throughout the spring and summer and I see the trend following us into fall. I have these cuffed once just so they sit above my shoes. These pants aren’t the dark hunter green we can expect this fall but they fit the bill and go great with this shirt. Plus, they’re incredibly soft.

On to this great shirt, the pattern is amazing. Can we take a minute to appreciate how perfect this shirt really is? Target went above and beyond with this one. First, the pattern is absolutely on point. The stripes on the bottom gave a little something extra while bringing in all those fall colors. Also, the shirt is sleeveless so it can also be worn in the summer with a cute pair of shorts and nice sandals.

In keeping with the fall theme, a nice sweater was in order, of course. I’ve not see a more fall sweater than this one. Perfect color, perfect fit and insanely comfortable. Granted this sweater wasn’t meant to be worn in 80 degree heat early October but you what you have to do. One thing I will have to say I don’t like about this sweater is that it sheds lint everywhere but that could be fixed with a good wash.

Overall this outfit isn’t something hard to put together or for people who stay up-to-date on the latest trends. Fashion is a personal choice more than anything. Just because it’s on the runway doesn’t mean you have to run out and buy those exact pieces. There are plenty of ways to be fashionable while staying modest and affordable.

As Christian women, we are called to dress modestly, which in today’s world is harder than one might think. Many think that with modesty, style goes out the window, but that often is not the case. Plenty of clothes fall into the modest category while still being fashionable. I Timothy 2:9 say this “In like manner, women adorn themselves in modest apparel with decency not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearl or costly array.” Proverbs 31:30 “Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.” This isn’t to say we shouldn’t dress nice or look professional but we should do these things in a manner pleasing to God. I hope this helps you all find your fall fashion inspiration and keeps you focused on God at the same time.
