Paula Anderson, Bryan’s current campus visit and transfer coordinator, has been a member of the Bryan community for several years. She graduated in 2011 and began her job in Admissions in August of 2013.

Her decision to resign was not an easy one, she said.

“I love my job and the people I work with. I can’t imagine a better boss than Aaron Porter who has encouraged and supported me through my time in the office,” said Anderson.

Porter, the director of admissions, had only positive things to say about Anderson.

“She has been a great person to have on the Admissions team and she’ll be missed around the office,” said Porter.

Due to health-related issues, Anderson said she needed to take time off to focus on healing and supporting her husband, Kevin Anderson, the RD in Woodlee-Ewing Hall.

“I am excited at the prospect of being home more and being able to minister to students through giving them a ‘home away from home!’ We all have days when we need a safe place to just ‘be’ and have a listening ear,” said Anderson.

Admissions Counselor Amanda Peckman, also a graduate of Bryan, will be taking over her position. While both Transfer Coordinator and Counselor involve some of the same responsibilities, Peckman’s new job will also incorporate planning events on campus and planning personal visits for prospective students.

When asked about what she was looking forward to the most regarding her work, Peckman said she is especially enthusiastic about showing Bryan in an authentic way and believes that students should pick a college that feels like home.

Peckman said that college is Bryan.

She is excited to be a part of the experience and “likes the way that faculty interacts with the students.”

“So many details go into scheduling a personal visit and even more for a visit event. I’m looking forward to seeing Amanda flourish in her new role,” said Porter.

As of right now, it is still undecided as to who will take over as Admissions Counselor in Peckman’s place, but the school is taking applications.

Peckman is scheduled to begin her new placement Feb. 1.
