Men’s Soccer Start The Season 4-0

The Bryan Lions Men’s Soccer team starts the season 4-0 after a win against West Virginia Institute of Technology last Saturday.

The Lions have recorded 15 goals combined in the first four games and only allowed three goals.

Leading the way for the Lions is Sophomore Forward Charlie Clarke. He has already totaled six goals in the first four games.

“We’re all hoping that we can do big things this year,” said Forward Charlie Clarke. “Nationals is our aim and we all agreed in pre-season with the coaches, that this is a very achievable goal. If we work harder than other teams and stay strong as team, we can do big things.”

With a great offense, you need a great defense to keep the momentum. Goalie Alex Horton has been almost flawless in the net. Horton has only allowed three goals so far this season.

“I am pleased with the work our guys have put in early, but we are far from where we want to be and know that if we want to accomplish our goals we will have to be consistent in our work,” said Head Coach Drew Courtney. “Having to overcome adversity is what makes good teams separate themselves from the rest and I believe we have the makeup to be one of those teams.”

The Lions will travel to Bethel University this Tuesday, September 13th as they look to tack on another win.
