Dayton, TN— The Lions began the AAC Conference tournament with a good chance to claim the conference title.

After shooting a 307 (+19), the Lions found themselves only five shots back of the leader, Union College.

The Lions began day two motivated to try and make a push to jump into the lead.

After starting the day, they found themselves sitting at four under par (-4) through the first hole as a team, making a strong push for the lead.

The Lions jumped out to a strong start, but faltered coming down the stretch to finish T-8 along with Milligan College.

Reinhardt University shot an impressive 292 (+4) on the second day to clinch the AAC Fall and Spring Conference Titles.

“We got off to a good start on the second day, but couldn’t keep the momentum going throughout the round,” said Sophomore Lucas Coffelt. “After going four under through the first hole we pulled within one shot of the lead, but as the day went on, the conditions got tougher and we faltered under pressure.”

Nick Scully led the Lions with a scoring average of 75.6 during the spring semester.

Scully was very consistent throughout both season firing many under par rounds. His best was at the Bryan College Invitation last fall, where he went on to shoot 69 (-3) to take the medalist position.

The team will go there separate ways for the summer and begin preparation for the 2016-17 season, which begins the first of September.
