Synopsis: When Noccunides-born triplets Melovin, Aster, and Sabreena came to Earth, they had one mission in mind. Establish a new home, save their people. Fresh out of their respective preliminary career training and ready to take on the galaxy, coming to Earth meant learning a new system, a new way of life they were never prepared to face. A way to see everything for what it truly is, including the colony they thought they had known since birth. A Sky Full of Stars is a story of secrets, lies, and how everything can come crashing down at the slightest deviation of the plan. But is that really such a bad thing after all? (Written by Workman)

Workman said it took her two years to write A Sky Full of Stars and her novel is 250 pages long. She has started on writing a sequel titled Between the Moon and the Stars

Instead of chapters, Workman has location coordinates for each of her six section breaks in her book. She said she did this to help clarify where the characters are in every section since there are several planets they travel to.

“I have been a huge fan of science fiction and Star Wars was one of my favorite movies growing up. Ender’s Game is one of my favorite books and I also really like dystopian books,” Workman said about what inspired her book.

Workman also mentioned how the triplet’s great-great grandparents began a colony on a moon of Saturn. The school system is very similar to the Giver and Divergent faction system, where the students, after they graduate, are placed in their pre-designated field. The students do not get a say where they are placed for their occupation. Melovin gets placed as a chemist, Aster is designated as an engineer, and Sabreena is assigned to be an archeologist.

“It’s about 2500 years in the future but the world still kinda looks the same . . . it follows mainly the siblings adjusting to earth and realizing how really terrible their home planet was,” Workman said.

“Take your time, do your research, but have fun,” Workman said for writers who are looking to publish their work independently.
