The Lady Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan College (Athens) came into the Lions’ Den Tuesday evening and stole a 3-1 victory. TWC came out of the gates hot and scored two goals in the first half.

Alexis Dalberth scored first for the Lady Bulldogs in the 20th minute with a well-placed shot passed Bryan’s keeper, Ariel Greene. Less than four minutes later, Maddie Thomas took an assist from Kaitlyn Poulakis and put it in the back of the net to make the lead 2-0.

Bryan answered the following minute with a stunning shot from senior forward Emily Lambert. The Lions took the momentum into the half down 2-1.

TWC came out in the second half continuing to pound the ball away at Bryan’s goal. Junior Kaitlyn Poulkas was able to sneak the third goal for TWC only three minutes into the half. The score would stand for the remainder of the game, as TWC improved to 5-4-1 and 2-1 in conference while Bryan dropped to 3-5 and 1-3 in conference play.

Bryan goes on the road this weekend to face St. Andrews University (Laurinburg, North Carolina) in another conference matchup hoping to bounce back from Tuesday’s loss.
