In an exciting matchup Wednesday night, the Bryan College men’s soccer team routed arch-rival Tennessee Wesleyan(Athens) 3-0.

The Lions began the game with a quick goal from senior forward Daniel Branley. The Lions continued to move the ball throughout the game against the Bulldogs. Bryan was able to keep the momentum throughout the first half and went into the half with a 1-0 lead.

Coming out of the half, TWC could not stop the Lions’ relentless pursuit for the back of TWC’s goal. Branley came up strong again with another goal midway through the second half with an assist from freshman Kevin Roenpage. Ten minutes later, Paul Liba came through on a cross from freshman midfielder Stephen Ricketts.

The score would remain 3-0 as Bryan rode out the momentum over a tired TWC.

The Lions move to 4-4-2 on the season, snagging their first conference win. The Bulldogs fall to 3-4-1 for the regular season and are now 1-2 in conference.

Bryan travels this weekend hunting for its second conference victory of the season against St. Andrews University (Laurinburg, North Carolina). The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday.
