Lady Lions drop a close one to Marian, face Lee tomorrow

The Lady Lions suffered their first loss of the young basketball season tonight at the hands of the Lady Knights of Marian University (Indianapolis), 59-53.

The teams entered the half tied at 26.

While the teams battled throughout the second half, the Lady Knights were able to finish with a 10-4 run to secure the victory.

Sophomore guard Keila Formont led the Lady Lions with 27 points, and senior center Jenna Ray had nine rebounds and four assists.

The Lady Lions shot 37 percent from the floor while the Lady Knights shot 36.5 percent.

The 1-1 Lady Lions play their next game Saturday at noon against the NCAA Division II Flames at Lee University (Cleveland, Tenn.).
