The Bryan Lions faced off against Georgia Gwinnett College Grizzlies (Lawrenceville, Ga.) this past Valentine’s Day weekend at home.
The Lions won the first game Friday afternoon by the score of 8-7, after giving up the lead in the seventh inning and then scoring two runs off walks in the bottom of the seventh inning to take the win.
However, a rough Friday night game saw the Lions fall behind early and come up short, despite scoring four runs in the last two innings. The final score was 8-6.
Saturday was the same story. The Lions fell behind by three runs and could not muster enough in the last three innings to come back, falling by a score of 3-2.
Throughout all three games the infield struggled with errors, and the Lions’ pitchers walked 25 batters over the course of the weekend.
The Lions are now 6-3 on the season after starting 5-1.
The Lions hope to turn things around this Tuesday when they face off against Tennessee Temple at home at 4 p.m.
