The black team, headed up by senior pitcher Kenny Knudsen, triumphed in the Bryan College baseball team’s Fall World Series, which wrapped up last Wednesday.

The series, planned for five games, ended after only three games when the black team pulled out a 3-0 sweep over the red team, lead by senior pitcher John Cain.

The series kicked off with a draft on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

The draft included a showing of videos put together by the pitching Associate Head  Baseball Coach Clint McCauley. Some of the videos featured highlights from last season, while others were lighter. One video was intended to show off the handsomeness of sophomore catcher Garrison Price.

There was also a prize giveaway, giving attendees the chance to win gift cards from several Dayton restaurants.

The black team walked away with a 16-8 victory in the first game of the series, held Oct. 31. They then went on to win the next two games on Nov. 3 and Nov. 5.

“My guys played well together, and I was very pleased with the efforts we gave. We knew that our bats were going to win us the series,” Knudsen said.

Cain said, “Getting beat stinks, but I was really impressed by the way some of the new guys are becoming a part of our family. I am feeling good about the way the team is coming together.”
