The Student Government Association (SGA) is hosting a Fall Banquet on Nov. 18 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. in the cafeteria and Rhea County room. This year there is no theme, but the dress code is cocktail dresses, ties and button downs. Clothes must follow Bryan’s guidelines. It’s free for on campus students and $2 for commuters and guests.

This year, you can dance and play board games or cards. The menu includes steak, twice baked potatoes, peas and carrots. For dessert, there will be a cheesecake bar with tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

Kaitlyn Hayes, junior and vice president of on-campus events, said the Banquet is a staple at Bryan College. Hayes said school can be stressful and the Banquet gives students the opportunity to have a great meal and spend carefree time with friends.

Hayes enjoyed last year’s Phantom of the Opera theme and has fun memories of the Banquet. “For our activity last year, we had a dance off and seeing Cooper Ferguson dance was honestly worth all the setup time it took that day,” said Hayes.

Shania Rodgers, senior and student body president, said,“The Hunger Games themed Banquet was my favorite. Of course the food is always the best part.”

Chandler Prisk, sophomore and vice president of off-campus events, said, “There’s steak and cheesecake and dancing, everything a Bryan student could possibly want.” His favorite memory from a previous banquet was pinning clothespins on all the guests.

Sign ups for the Banquet are in the cafeteria every day from 11-2:00 p.m. until Nov. 17.
