Admissions welcomes Holcomb

Bryan College has a new face to greet visitors. Diana Holcomb is the new campus visit coordinator, replacing Amanda Peckman who moved to North Carolina near the beginning of the semester.

Holcomb, Class of 1994, worked in the Bryan library from 1994-1996, and she said she enjoyed her experience.

“My heart’s desire has been to come back here,” she said.

Her husband, David Holcomb, also class of 1994, is the Bryan scholarship fund director. She said they have not seen each other much while on the clock, but they appreciate having the same schedules.

Holcomb began work on Oct. 1, and said she has been enjoying the experience, so much so that she would like to retire here.

Her goals are to bring in prospective students and their families, show them love and hopefully sign them up.

Although this month has been a period of transition, Campus Visit Assistant Drew Morrison, a senior, said Holcomb has been integrating well with the Admissions team and that it has been a pleasure working with her.

Without Peckman to train Holcomb, Admissions Office Manager Donna Belisle has taken over much of the responsibility for bringing her up to speed on her responsibilities and tasks, Morrison said.

With anyone filling a new position, there will be bumps, but the workload transfer so far has been mostly smooth and getting smoother, he continued.

There has been a high level of collaboration this month as Holcomb adjusts to the team and learns the job, but Admissions is always a team effort, Belisle said.
