Jeff Eenigenburg has joined the Office of Spiritual Formation as the Director of Worship Arts.
Eenigenburg, his wife, Caroline, and their three children moved from Bainbridge, Georgia to begin work at Bryan College this semester.
Because worship is a lifestyle, Eenigenburg hopes to use music as a catalyst for worship outside of chapel, according to senior Jonathan Goff.
“What happens in chapel is something to aid [worship], direct it and move towards that lifestyle,” said Eenigenburg.
In addition to fulfilling several of Jessi Trigger’s former responsibilities, Eenigenburg teaches in the Christian Ministry Department. This semester, he is teaching Youth Developmental Processes.
Trigger has moved to Orlando, Florida where her husband, Joel, is attending Reformed Theological Seminary.
According to Goff, Eenigenburg has attended many worship conferences and programs designed to make leading worship more vibrant and efficient. Because of his experience, Eenigenburg pulls together a lot of elements while keeping worship intimate, real and authentic, he added.
The goal is to “pursue a real, genuine atmosphere of worship,” said Eenigenburg. “Many [students] are in different places,” which is both “exciting” and a “challenge.”
Eenigenburg has worked at Grace Church as the pastor of worship for eight years.
“[Eenigenburg] comes with a lot of experience as a worship pastor,” said Goff, not just in musical skill, but technical experience as well. There is a lot more confidence in the worship leadership team with such a level of personal and skillful excellence, he added.
Eenigenburg believes there are a number of talented people at Bryan who follow the Lord in a genuine way.
He also said that he is already loving Bryan and is excited to meet students, get to know them and pour into their lives.
