Required stoplight will make Bryan entrance safer

by Lana Douglas, Triangle staff writer

As each day passes the new entrance to Bryan College becomes closer to completion. However, there is a new addition to the project. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) requires a light be installed where the new entrance intersects with U.S. Highway 27 to help prevent accidents.

“Their big concern is that we don’t have a student, visitor, parent or faculty…killed at that intersection,” Vice President of Operations Tim Hostetler said. Read full story »

Bryan band name offends parent

by Billy Findley, copy editor

“Meat Loaf.” “Death Cab for Cutie.” “Jimmy Eat World.” These are just a few of a seemingly endless list of strange band names out there. While such names may often draw skeptical feedback from a lot people, there may, in fact, be a meaning behind them. Than again, they may just be attention-grabbers.

Men’s soccer team loses to Buffalo after rainouts

by Tim Bali, Triangle staff writer

This Monday, after a weeklong delay, the Bryan Lions faced the Milligan (Tenn.) College Buffalo in their second conference soccer game of the season. Milligan won the game 1-0 after scoring the only goal during the second half.
The game took place on Monday evening rather than on Sept. 21 because heavy rains kept the field unusable last week. One advantage of the rain delay was the time it provided for two injured Lions’ players to recover, said Head Coach Sandy Zensen.
