wins and five losses. Friday started out with a game away against Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga.

A legacy seven years in the making

Academic Vice President Dr. Cal White announced in a faculty meeting on Jan. 26 that he will be leaving Bryan at the end of May.

President Dr. Stephen Livesay said White will be missed.

“Much has been accomplished under Dr. White’s leadership and I am grateful for his time, effort, and vision in making Bryan what it is today,” Livesay said.

Baseball gets a new coach and a new season

With new Head Coach Taylor Hasty, Assistant Coach Jeremy Deal, and 15 new eligible freshmen, the baseball team is ready for the 2009 season.

Last year the baseball team finished with a 19-30 record led by Coach Joel Johnson, and this year they were ranked 8th out of 10 teams during the preseason in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. The team started out with 26 new recruits in the fall and ended up with 15 eligible players for the spring. Read full story »

Slumdog’s unexpected success

Director Danny Boyle is known for stylistically driven films, but never have any of his movies been as inspiring or uplifting as his newest film, “Slumdog Millionaire.” Although it is as visually stimulating and beautiful as Boyle’s other films, “Slumdog’s” success stems from its repackaged, fairy-tale story with an original setting and cast of characters.
